World Prematurity Day

World Prematurity Day, observed every year on 17 November.

The observance was established in 2008 by the European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants (EFCNI) together with parent organizations worldwide, highlighting the need for better care, support, and understanding for vulnerable newborns.

Nearly 15 million babies are born preterm annually, making up about one in every ten births globally.

It aims to raise global awareness about preterm birth and the challenges faced by premature babies and their families.
