In January 1994, Jerry Yang and David Filo created a website directory called “Jerry and David’s Guide to the World Wide Web.”
On March 2, 1995, they formally incorporated that same project as Yahoo! Inc. in California, USA.
On April 12, 1996, Yahoo! went public on the NASDAQ, and its stock price surged on the first day of trading.
