Parents' Worship Day - India

Parents' Worship Day (Matru Pitru Poojan Divas) is celebrated annually on February 14 in India.

It was initiated by Asharam Bapu, an Indian spiritual leader who wanted to create an alternative to Valentine’s Day.

The day was first celebrated on 14 February 2007 at Sant Shri Asharamji's Gurukul, Ahmedabad.
