International Human Solidarity Day

The UN General Assembly proclaimed International Human Solidarity Day in 2005 and designated December 20 to be the date of this observance. On December 20, 2002 the UN General Assembly established the World Solidarity Fund, the trust fund of the United Nations Development Program. The main objective of the fund is to eradicate poverty and promote social and cultural development of the developing countries.
