Gurajada Apparao (Gurajada Venkata Apparao) – an Indian Telugu poet, playwright, writer, social reformer.

One of the pioneers of modern Telugu theatre.

He wrote Kanyasulkam, one of the most celebrated plays in Telugu literature.

He wrote the patriotic poem “Desamunu Preminchumanna,” containing the famous line “Desamante Matti Kadoyi, Desamante Manushuloyi.”

He earned the titles “Kavisekhara” and “Abhyudaya Kavitha Pithamahudu.”
