International Red Sneakers Day is observed annually on May 20.

It's a day dedicated to raising awareness about food allergies and anaphylaxis, especially in memory of Oakley Debbs, a young boy who tragically died from a walnut allergy. Oakley loved his red sneakers, and they have become a symbol of the day.
