International Transgender Day of Visibility
International Transgender Day of Visibility is observed annually on 31 March.
It was established in 2009 by American transgender activist Rachel Crandall-Crocker.
The day was created to celebrate the lives, achievements, and contributions of transgender people while raising awareness of the discrimination and challenges they continue to face.
Unlike the Transgender Day of Remembrance, which honors victims of anti-transgender violence, the day focuses on recognition, visibility, inclusion, and empowerment.
The observance is marked worldwide through awareness campaigns, educational programs, community events, and advocacy for equality, dignity, and human rights for transgender people.
