Jigme Dorji Wangchuck

Jigme Dorji Wangchuck a Bhutan monarch, social reformer, diplomat.

Father of modern Bhutan. 3rd Druk Gyalpo of Bhutan. First non-Indian to receive the Padma Vibhushan. He abolished serfdom and capital punishment, and introduced land reforms that transformed indentured laborers into tenants and sharecroppers.
