Lakshmi Sahgal

Lakshmi Sahgal (Lakshmi Swaminathan)– an Indian freedom fighteress, physicianess.

Indian National Army (INA) officer.

She led the Rani of Jhansi Regiment, the women’s regiment of the INA, under Subhas Chandra Bose.

She served as Minister for Women’s Affairs in the Azad Hind Government and became popularly known as Captain Lakshmi.
