International Malala Day

International Malala Day (also called Malala Day or World Malala Day) is observed annually on 12 July.

The observance commemorates Pakistani education activist Malala Yousafzai's address to the United Nations Youth Assembly on her 16th birthday in 2013, following her recovery after being attacked for advocating girls' education.

It promotes girls' education, equal opportunities, human rights, and youth empowerment worldwide.

The day is marked through educational programmes, awareness campaigns, discussions, and initiatives supporting every child's right to education.
