Ram Mohan Roy an Indian social reformer, Philosopher, educationalist, diplomat, journalist, religious reformer, writer.

Father of Modern India. Father of the Bengal Renaissance. Founder of the Brahmo Samaj. Pioneer of Indian Journalism. He was given the title of ‘Raja’ by the Mughal Emperor Akbar II.

He worked to eradicate the social evil of sati, supported widow remarriage, worked for women’s education. He was in favor of English education and worked for the English education system in the country.
