South Korea Constitution Day
South Korea Constitution Day is observed annually on 17 July.
The day commemorates the promulgation of the Constitution of the Republic of Korea on 17 July 1948.
The date also marks the traditional founding day of the Joseon dynasty, symbolizing the nation's historical continuity.
The observance promotes constitutional values, democracy, the rule of law, and respect for the Constitution.
It is one of South Korea's four major national commemorative days established under the Legislation on National Commemorative Days in 1949.
Although it ceased to be a public holiday in 2008, it remains an official national commemorative day.
