Vijay Tendulkar

Vijay Tendulkar (Vijay Dhondopant Tendulkar) an Indian independence activist, playwright, movie and television writer, literary essayist, political journalist, social commentator.  Sangeet Natak Akademi Award recipient. National Film award recipient. Many of Tendulkar's plays are inspired by real-life events or social upheavals and are starkly realistic. He has taught students studying "playwriting" courses in American universities. Tendulkar has been one of the most influential playwrights in Maharashtra for five decades.
