World Rock Day

World Rock Day (Dia Mundial Do Rock) is observed annually on 13 July.

The observance celebrates rock music and commemorates the Live Aid charity concerts held on 13 July 1985 to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia.

The name gained popularity after musician Phil Collins expressed his hope that the date would become "World Rock Day" during the Live Aid event.

Although, the observance is primarily celebrated in Brazil, where it became popular through radio stations promoting the date in the 1990s.
