India’s First Recorded Motor Vehicle Accident Occurred in Kerala.

On 20 September 1914, India’s first recorded motor vehicle accident occurred at Kurithitheruvu near Kayamkulam, Kerala.

A stray dog reportedly ran across the road, causing the car carrying Kerala Varma Valiya Koil Thampuran to lose control and overturn. He sustained serious injuries and died two days later.
