Software Freedom Day

Software Freedom Day is observed annually on the third Saturday of September.

Started in 2004, the worldwide observance promotes awareness and use of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and highlights the freedom to use, study, modify and share software.

It is coordinated globally by the Digital Freedom Foundation.
