On May 7, 1897, the Godrej Group was launched with its flagship company, Godrej & Boyce, by Ardeshir and Pirojsha Godrej.

The Story began as part of India’s Swadeshi movement – the original ‘Make in India’ movement.

Over time, the Godrej family businesses split into two main factions.

Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG) – industrial and manufacturing businesses, including Godrej & Boyce.

Godrej Industries Group – chemicals, real estate, and other diversified businesses.
