Operation SINDOOR was launched by the Indian Armed Forces.

On 22 April 2025, the Pahalgam terror attack occurred in Baisaran Valley, popularly known as “Mini Switzerland,” in Jammu and Kashmir.

A total of 26 civilians, mostly tourists from across India, were killed.

Witnesses reported that victims were separated based on religion, with Hindu men specifically targeted, though a local Muslim guide and a Christian tourist were also killed.

The Resistance Front, a proxy of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack.

On 7 May 2025, Operation SINDOOR was launched by the Indian Armed Forces to target terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
