Guam Liberation Day

Guam Liberation Day observed annually on 21 July in Guam, an unincorporated territory of the United States.
Commemoration of the United States military landing on 21 July 1944, beginning the liberation of Guam and ending approximately 31 months of Japanese occupation during World War II.

First observance in 1945. 21 July 1950 also marking the inauguration of Guam's first civil government under the Organic Act of Guam. Celebration of freedom, resilience, sacrifice, peace, and the enduring spirit of the CHamoru people.

Military and civilian parades, memorial ceremonies, religious services, cultural performances, concerts, carnivals, community events, and fireworks, especially in Hagåtña. Tribute to the CHamoru people, Allied servicemen, veterans, and all who endured the occupation.
