World Tripe Day

World Tripe Day is celebrated every year on October 24th.

It is to honor and promote tripe, the edible lining of a cow’s stomach.

Established in 2012 by the Tripe Marketing Board in the United Kingdom, the day encourages people to rediscover this traditional, nutritious, and once-popular dish.

The date commemorates the first recorded mention of tripe in English literature, which appeared in Samuel Pepys’ diary on October 24, 1662.
