Ambedkar was appointed as a probationer in the Military Department of the Baroda State.

On 15 January 1913, Ambedkar was appointed as a probationer in the Military Department’s Accountant General Office in Baroda.

He became Financial Secretary of the Baroda State with salary of Rs 75 per month.

To avoid touching him, peons would throw files at him from a distance.

No one was willing to rent him a house.

He adopted a Parsi name and began staying in a Parsi hotel for a rent of one and a half rupees per day.

On the eleventh day, ten to twelve thugs arrived with sticks and stood outside his room on the first floor.

Due to humiliation faced at work Ambedkar left the job.
