Scottish inventor John Logie Baird demonstrated the world’s first working television system in London at 22 Frith Street in Soho.
He had demonstrated before members of the Royal Institution the transmission of an image of a face in motion by radio. This is widely regarded as the world’s first true public television demonstration, exhibiting light, shade, and detail.
