On 22 June 1952, Visalaandhra, a Telugu-language daily newspaper, was established in Vijayawada, Andhra State (present-day Andhra Pradesh, India).

It was founded by the Communist Party of India (CPI) to advocate the creation of a unified state for all Telugu-speaking people.
